Since taking office 11 days ago, President Donald Trump has embarked on a massive government makeover, firing and sidelining hundreds of civil servants in his first steps toward downsizing the bureaucracy and installing more loyalists.

I would need to know more about the nature of this, but if we're talking just random 'aides' of Musk tinkering with computer systems without sufficient privileges, that's getting perilously close to unauthorized use of computer systems, which is a felony. Obviously, prosecuting them with a MAGA DOJ is going to be quite the challenge, but statute of limitations in most cases is at least 5 years from the offense, each new incident, constituting an extension of that window.

Gov employees are angry this might violate federal labor laws and whether these people are getting paid OT and by who.

If people start working hard around the clock, this could make federal workers look really bad who are used to 4 hour workdays and 16 weeks of vacation a year.

The most direct consequence of this is that job descriptions and titles can not be changed. Office of Personnel Management is full of AFGE unionists who would love to do exactly that.

Applicants for federal jobs are now being subjected to loyalty vetting, asked about their political views, social networking posts, asked what they did to show support for Trump during his campaign and so on.

In a democracy one's political views are private, nobody's business, loyalty should be to the constitution and the sitting president's "agenda" always comes second.

This is woke itself, a candidate should be vetted purely on the basis of their experience and accomplishments in the domain they are working in, preferring Magats over others is no different to preferring blacks over whites or disabled over able bodied.
