Im not sure but I do know that every news source that I have read, in reference to the hurricane season, has desperately yearned for a hurricane to hit the US mainland. Fortunately, the hurricane forecasters laid a big egg with 0 hitting the mainland this year. They were callling at one time for 3-5 majors to hit along with 7-9 under cat 3 to hit.

And we are only at letter M here, 13th storm, most years have 20+

and it is a late Oct cane, way at the end of the season, usually weak ones...

That chart tracks ocean temps with high correlation. The water temp late Oct is not there for Cat 5s.

What they cannot fudge is the standard properties of these canes, storm surge and wind damage, and what is on Jamaica is Cat 1 with 8 foot storm surge, not Cat 5 with 20 foot storm surge. I forgot to comment on the top video there, the still front photo.... near the coast... with an INTACT PALM TREE right there, and hence that palm tree did not experience 145 mph winds which is the speed they all break.... indeed, the flimsy wooden structures there downed all qualify for Cat 1, and there are intact structures in the still photo....including what appears to be an intact power line tower right on the coast....

You know when you first brought this topic up, I followed your link and took a look at the photos on that page. They looks like tourists photos or something, they weren't official news photos or NOAA photos or anything like that so WHY would you rely on them to inform you that there was no CAT 5 damage done to Jamaica?

Also most of the photos had been taken 19 hours prior to the time of viewing. I didn't even see any that were in the previous few hours which would have been after daylight in order to see the devastation that had occurred overnight and/or the day before.

You know, I'm not a meteorologist and I'm guessing neither are you, but my understanding is what makes up the categories are the sustained wind strengths. And that a hurricane forming over warm water loses strength once it reaches land. I guess being over land causes the winds to dissipate.

But you're behaving hysterically over something that's bad enough based on the verifiable facts of damage, without needing you trying to stir up a conspiracy theory.

But you aren't thinking it through. The bias of the media is for CO2 FRAUD. If there really was "devastation" on Jamaica it would have been plastered all over the internet and the TV. There isn't any "devastation" and that's why there aren't many photos. The actual photos, posted in the thread linked in the OP, show Cat 1 damage. The actual NWS image showed a Cat 5 with 175mph coming ashore, in theory with at least a 20 foot storm surge. The reality on the ground in Jamaica is Cat 1 damage with about an 8 foot storm surge.
