Especially in small town America. Small towns all over the country lost their manufacturing base due to NAFTA and the slave labor pool in Asia. So in these towns, HUGE numbers of people moved to the city during the 90's - 2010's. Many of the people who stayed are lazy undesirables. Decent neighborhoods went to shit all around... white trash everywhere you look.
A lot of that is where I live. For those of us who live in these areas, and have solid jobs are among the minority and you definitely feel like you are surrounded by idiots 24 hours a day... well.... because we are.
