Oops, Sandy Denny was English! And k. d. is Canadian! OK, my revised list is Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, Karen Carpenter and Emmylou Harris.

In reality Greg I was surprised that you were even aware of Moms Mabley, you know from being from the land down under and all... I remember her from being a guest on the Merv Griffin Show in the mid 60's...

I have always found here version of Abraham, Martin and John (and Bobby) very moving. Not even sure where I first heard her. Mum said she was a bit "cheeky".
