That's not quite true. Trump proposed that as a solution, the USA would take central management overseeing the reconstruction of Gaza, but other countries in the region would supply the labor, tools, equipment and manpower. We would simply be a neutral governing party.

It would be cleaned up and remade into a beautiful world city for all to share and enjoy. ITMT, the Palis would be given somewhere else to live, new land and a nice city to live to replace what they lost in Gaza to make their lives easy in the interim.

If the plan works and the ME sign up to it (and some already have so far), it would for once and all solve Israel's problem of no longer having hostiles right next to them lobbing rockets at them every day.

But the key is whether the region is really, finally ready for peace and to move into the 21st century.

We shall see.
