That's so sad. Elephants are my favorite wild creatures.
We've got a disease up here spread by a tick that causes similar symptoms in moose. They suffer horribly before they die. A student of mine came in late one day and explained that he had to shoot a moose in a field by the road who was doing that--stumbling in circles, all skin and bones. He put the moose out of its misery and the warden had to come by, of course. But 350 elephants? That's a LOT. There aren't that many elephants left, thanks to poachers etc.

I sure hope they figure it out soon, not just for us but for them!!!
