More money for Ukraine while our own people tent in the snow.

Those Okies were my grandpa and grandma.
The Times had an article on the woman who documented conditions in the migrant camps. Her documentation was shared with John Steinbeck, who visited the camps, and used her documentation to write his book.

As part of his research, Steinbeck relied heavily on records from Tom Collins, director of Arvin Camp in California, photographs taken by Dorothea Lange, and interviews conducted by Sanora Babb, as well as his own journalistic writings on the migration.

My Mom was born in California but the Okies moved back after the war and we lived in OKC.

The absolute WORST president of all time and it isn't even close.
Thank God he can only do 6 more weeks of damage and then the money laundering operation will stop, and the adults will be in charge.

What a bullshit thread.

If we had given ZERO dollars to Ukraine, not one DIME would have gone to “homeless tenting in the snow”.

'Not one more cent to the Biden administration': House Freedom Caucus rejects White House's disaster relief request

Well, that was easy.

And you expect people who are part of the problem, to suddenly become part of the solution?
I don't expect people to put their shopping carts away properly, never mind addressing the trade deficit.

what is a "full" tax?
85 percent of SS benefit is taxed. Worse, adding 85 percent of SS to gross income can raise your tax bracket as well.

Ironic, because the ones who pay the tax can probably afford it.
Yes, but who can say no to free money?

I can't wait for Trump to eliminate tax on overtime.

That's the full SS tax.
Actually the full SS tax would be taxing all of it as income. Like happens with most pensions. Social security tops out at 85% taxed as income, and 15% tax free.

You have to pay income tax on your pension and on withdrawals from any tax-deferred investments—such as traditional IRAs, 401(k)s, 403(b)s and similar retirement plans,

That's as dumb as eliminating the SS tax. Lowering so many taxes just means borrowing to backfill the budget. Also, the private workplace likely can't absorb the tens of thousands of federal workers he plans to lay off.

We pay taxes on SS contributions when they are collected, so taxing the benefits is really double taxing. The only reason for the tax is to bolster SS for the future as fewer workers are contributing vs those collecting benefits. Longevity is the big problem. People aren't dying soon enough for the program to perpetuate itself.
