Ah. So what really seems to have happened:

• active combat zone
• Hamas and Islamic Jihad active in the area (by "active", I mean shooting at IDF)
• evacuation orders in effect
• no prior co-ordination of ambulance
• convoy of vehicles approaching the IDF without headlights or emergency lights
• IDF unable to identify vehicles as emergency vehicles
• IDF engaged with enemy and later reported eliminating Hamas members

Y'all realize that this is deliberate, yes? That Hamas has a POLICY of placing Hamas operatives and other objectives in ambulances. They do it for a number of reasons, but not the least of them is to whine for sympathy from the western media and to shout "war crimes".
