Trump doesn't want to drive housing costs down!

He wants to drive them up!

Way up!

What say all ye who insist that fewer illegal immigrants means more affordable housing?

If housing prices go down we have what's called a "real estate crash".

Like 2008. Remember that?

He wants the people poor, so the rich can rule them easier.

"I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people that own their homes," Trump said. "And they can be assured that's what's going to happen."

I don't want to drive grocery prices down. I want to drive grocery prices up for people that supply groceries," Trump said. "And they can be assured that's what's going to happen.

"Existing housing, people that own their homes, we're going to keep them wealthy," Trump said. "We're going to keep those prices up. We're not going to destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn't work very hard can buy a home.

I copied this paragraph, showing that he wants to make it easier for 1st time home buyers by lowering mortgage rates, and by stopping corporations from buying houses.

"We're going to make it easier to buy," the president added. "We're going to get interest rates down. But I want to protect the people who, for the first time in their lives, feel good about themselves. They feel like, you know, that they're wealthy people."

You lefties who own homes want to see the value of your home drop?

By how much?

Are there “affordable” apartments being built? Do you Lefties expect a homeless person to purchase a single family home?

Walk me through what is considered AFFORDABLE HOUSING.

If inflation averages 2.5% perhaps homes rising 1% to1.5% would work. The problem is that the younger ones are having a more difficult time purchasing homes.

Who owns these "houses" of which you speak, that Trump wants to make more valuable?

Nobody but Billionaires and Evil Corporations?

I can tell you what's NOT affordable housing. 3200 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment is not affordable. You know how the accountants say you can spend 1/3 of your income on rent? Being generous (not including taxes), that means you need to make 9600 a month, or 115k a year, to live there. Not many people make that much, and yet that's what apartments go for in LA. If you want to get into a 2 bedroom house it's 6500 a month in Burbank. So you have to make 240k a year. If both of you are working 100k jobs you still can't afford it.

Yes, LA is high.

Average for a 1 BR in Omaha is $1000.

Supply and demand.

Not sure Trump can make Burbank rent drop significantly.

I do not know what these people expect.

They want a $400,000 home in Charlotte to suddenly be worth $200,000?

Makes
No
Sense

He wants us home owners to get richer. Cool, but it ***** the younger people trying to start out. In 21 years, my home is already worth triple what I paid for it.

What he wants is a stable housing market in which prices rise steadily.

We don't need sharp increases caused by flooding the market due to uncontrolled immigration combined with "free" housing for newcomers given instant assylum.

We also don't need a sharp decrease that robs people like you of the wealth you sacrificed to grow, and puts people like my daughter and son in law who just bought a house for the first time instantly underwater.

What we most of all don't need is people taking two or three word sound bites from Trump completely out of context to say things like "Trump wants housing to be more expensive!"

Sadly, the so called journalists in the media do this bizarre type of "reporting." Then the low-information consumer parrots it on a message board.
