(CNN)Truth and reconciliation.

As we mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year, it's worth asking: Can America handle either one?

When Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa after the end of apartheid he had two choices. He could have gone down a path of confrontation and retribution against the white Afrikaners who had ruled so oppressively. Or he could have skipped quickly past the history and reality of apartheid and pardoned all its perpetrators in the interests of maintaining order.

He did neither.

Probably good he didn't live to see what's become of a huge segment of the black community.

Yeah, in just a few decades, Martin, blacks will be murdering fellow blacks on America's streets by the thousands every year, something those allegedly following in your footsteps will virtually ignore in favor of fictional problems that dovetail with the victimhood mentality they're selling.

MLK would be proud of the burned down city blocks, and assassinations of cops and random white people.
