...the history books they have in our schools are globalist propaganda to teach American kids that it was "isolationism" that kept America out of world events, and because America did not get involved early enough, first there was World War I and then there was World War II.
And then America started doing its part, which was to plant its flag all over Europe, Japan, to keep the world safe from a third world war. We entangled ourselves with the UN, NATO, SEATO, ANZUS and all the other defense treaties, and then we had NAFTA and all the other trade agreements.
So, it was not surprising that after Communism fell, and the threat of a third world war was effectively ended, America kept all its military bases, all its treaties, all its trade agreements, and proceeded forth as if relatively powerless post-Communist Russia was a real threat. But Russia has a GNP about the same size as tiny Denmark., what makes them a threat?
Trump's idea was not to end all this, but to at least end the screwing of the American taxpayer, since the nations being "protected" by America were not even contributing their fair share towards their defense, or keeping up their military budget to be at par with ours.
The fact is, we no longer need to protect the world, and so we shouldn't.
Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, are big countries that can protect themselves from the "threat" Russia poses. They need to step up and start acting like the Great Powers they once were.
Would this lead to another world war? Doubtful. The threat of nuclear destruction seems to be the real reason no world war has broken out. These terrible weapons, ironically, have given us one of the longest peace periods in world history (not total peace, but peace between great nations).
What's my point in all this?
Trump said he would "drain the swamp." What the swamp is, is elitists who believe in globalism, which is America's role in protecting the status quo, which is unfair treaties and unfair trade deals, screwing the American taxpayer and the American worker.
Enough is enough. We should stop letting fear of world war color our attitudes.
