Mod staffing updates?

Although it isn’t a job suitable for many people, some folks think that being a part of the moderator staff is of some note.

Why doesn’t the USMB Administration ANNOUNCE the departure of old staff or the arrival of a newly minted mod?
When we've made mod change announcements in the past, the usual trolls and assholes start up with disparaging remarks towards the mod(s) coming in and whoever is going out. Others have tried to make the threads about themselves and their grievances.

I'm sorry I turned down your offer.

I worry that the unlimited power would go to my head and change me from the most humble man as I am.

That seems like a perfectly reasonable answer to my question. Thank you, Aye, for the courtesy of your reply.

You can see the staff at anytime by clicking on the Members tab at the top of the page. Check it everyday if you wish. Easy peezy.

Of course. But not exactly “announced” by the Admin., recently. I recall seeing announcements in the past when someone came on as a mod.

Just curious why that policy changed?

I'm too much of a newbie to answer that, though Ayes explanation, in post 24, makes a lot of sense.

That sounds funny. Moderators that can´t stand trolls and assholes aren´t qualified at all.

The announcement area isn't in a part of the forum for troll and assholish responses. Mods take more abuse from members than you can imagine.

Of course it is not. But that makes it the perfect training ground for the new moderator. Plus the new mod gets to know the trolls.
