Minnesota cops beg Walz, pols to let them work with ICE, say they could have prevented shootings

MINNEAPOLIS — The head of a major Twin Cities police union slammed local officials for blocking cooperation between local cops and ICE and Border Patrol agents – saying if they had been involved, “there would be no loss of life.”
It comes as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz agreed to have his top cop work with President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan after he rushed to Minneapolis Monday — after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was sidelined.
St. Paul Police Federation President Mark Ross blamed state and local officials for the anti-ICE protest violence — saying that if highly trained cops were allowed to work with the feds, it likely would have prevented the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
“Unfortunately, our local politicians would not allow us to do that,” he added.
As a result ICE and Border Patrol agents — who are not trained to deal with civilian protests in the same way — have been all on their own to deal with angry locals.
He said that such cooperation didn’t even require changing Minnesota’s sanctuary laws — or helping ICE make immigration arrests.

Instead of helping to keep the peace, Ross said local cops had been left “stuck in the middle” of a street war between local politicians, federal agents and protesters.
“Part of it is leadership, because the leadership in our cities doesn’t want us communicating with the federal folks. And that disconnect has created some problems for everybody, and we’re stuck in the middle of it, and public safety is everybody’s responsibility,” he said.
“We want to be out there. We want to be keeping people safe, and it’s been really tough. We really feel like we’re in the middle of this, obviously, not by choice,” Ross added.

President Trump ordered hard-charging Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino back home, along with many of his agents, on Monday, following growing disquiet among Republicans about the heavy use of force in Minnesota.
Along with dispatching Homan to defuse the situation on the ground, President Trump also offered his support to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who has also faced criticism from some for her handling of immigration raids in Minnesota.
Asked whether he thought Sec. Noem would resign, the President told reporters Tuesday, “no,” before adding, “I think she’s doing a very good job.”

Commentary:
Walz and top Minnesota politicians opposing ICE need to be arrested and sacked from their positions for dereliction of duties, inciting civil disobedience, violence, riots and most of all their sedition. DHS, ICE and Minnesota police union should utilize local police trained to quell riots and Trump needs to ratchet it up with all sanctuary cities too.
If we had a remotely objective and fair press, the story out of Minnesota would be that if the Democrat administration would have cooperated with ICE to let ICE take criminals from jails, none of the riots and deaths would have occurred.
Walz and other DSA political officials especially Mayor Jacob Frey are 100% responsible for the violence because they have done everything to prevent cooperation between local and federal law enforcement.
I love how in the title its plural...but the link is a union boss who is always at odds with the governor.

Walz is following his George Floyd playbook. Why not? He's done, no re-election and oh yeah he will have a lot of splainin to do in the massive Somali Fraud case. So he might as well see if he can create a couple more martyrs for "the cause". Walz and Frey have Fretti's and Good's blood on their hands. With Police presence, both of them would be alive today.

If CPB -- with NO police powers -- had done the correct thing and called local police, they would have been there to help.

In fact, nothing was stopping them at all.

So we can throw this thread in the trash.
Tampon and the tiny mayor stopped them, stupid.

Apparently, ICE was unaware that it should not shoot to death Americans who did not like them.

If only the legitimate police had told them!
Why aren’t there thousands of dead, Shitlips? Thousands have showed up to express their dislike of our legal system.

Your theory dictates a vast majority of those be killed. What happened?

If one thinks someone's rights were violated... The MPD police took an oath " I shall intervene in protest, both verbally and physically, if I witness anyone violating another's rights"
Walz and Frey kept them from upholding their oath.

It’s not really the job of local police unless they are working in conjunction with ice
Right, but dealing with someone standing in the street, if it is even unlawful, would be the job of someone with police powers. Like, local police.

Which is what the local police have been saying. If there is a problem crowd, call us.

(And psst... please do not assault and kill our citizens)

Pathetic dodge, Shitlips

Let’s try again for the slow,one here….

Tampon and Mini Mayor told them they can’t help, Simp.

…son of a *****…we agree!!! Yes, local police are trained in crowd control, ice agents are not. If Minnesota hadn’t stuck their nose in the air and refused to assist ice agents, most of these interactions probably wouldn’t have happened.

Maybe it’s time for the police to start working the crowds…like they’ve been asking to do.

Yes, that would be preferable to fed agents illegally brutalizing and detaining people.

See, another big problem here is that the fed goons have been told they have more power than they have. An arrest has protocols. They do NOT involve running up to someone and tackling them, as caught on video multiple times, and they DO involve the reading of rights and access to a lawyer. These things are not happening, and someone needs to be held accountable for that.

This delusion of grandeur, top to bottom, is the real problem , here. Thats why Bush and Obama can deport millions without riots, while Trump can't hit a cool mil without a constitutional crisis.

Arrests don’t involve running up and tackling people?

You ever seen an episode of Cops, Simp?
