You don't know what the **** your talking about. Anytime a soldier has a personal weapon on base they have to keep it stored in the units arms room. This guy likely lived off post and snuck the weapon onto the base.

The only military personnel who carry firearms on base are MP's or soldiers going to the range and those weapons are not loaded until they are ready to fire at targets.

All the weapons on a military installation are locked up in vaults.

The ammunition for those weapons is secured at another facility, where it takes 5 reams of paper and 2 weeks notice to draw an ammo order.

Technically, military installations are very gun free, as far as armed soldiers and civilians walking around the post are concerned.
