Who else is a fan of the TV series “Midsummer Murders”? I am really dismayed. I enjoyed this series so much until John Nettles left and Neil Dudgeon slid in. I think it is obvious that Nettles is a far, far better actor but have the director and writers also been changed? It’s still being aired over here but I often shut the TV off after 20 minutes of the tripe. What happened to this fine series?

I watched several seasons of it but became a bit bored of it for other reasons eventually

I watched a number of seasons, it was pretty good - IMHO. Did like Nettles over Dudgeon a little more, not that I thought Dudgeon was bad.

That reminds, my son has subscribed to the BBC channel. Might be time to catch up with Doc Martin also.

Still being churned out for BBC as it is a huge earner .
Have never watched it and doubt I ever will .
But a new series ( 26 or 27 ) has been commissioned .

I guess that in a way it is a Soap Opera .
But I have never watched an episode of any sort of Soap in around the last 30 years .
However , I did enjoy Line of Duty .

P.S. Midsomer , not Midsummer .

Agreed. BTW, Mrs. Tishell is in at least two episodes of "Midsummer Murders" as is Al and Auntie Joan.
