I won't argue your point that they technically were not illegals, and to be 100% correct I should have said they were not citizens. They were here on contract only and were supposed to return to Mexico. Many did not.

The program was the foothold or door stopper for devious politicians on both sides to then open America's doors to Mexicans coming across the border because then the Democrats could claim, like they still are shamelessly doing still today, that "Oh, they are just here to pick crops" when 99% of them are not here to pick crops.

The real truth is that illegal aliens are a cash cow to government workers. Some schools in the San Fernando Valley that used to be 95% white and now 95% Hispanic, filled with children of illegal aliens. If their parents are booted, the kids would go with them and teachers would be in bread lines. The same goes for welfare workers, health care workers, DMV employees, police, fire, etc. Without illegals, tens of thousands of highly paid government workers will no longer be needed.

Illegals are also needed by scores of businesses to keep wages low and prices for their customers. In that regard, they kept inflation low under Biden. The most highly touted report on fewer crimes is from the Cato Institute, and Peter Norweitz there is a liar. He used only Texas because (he says) they keep records of crimes, and they are similar to the rest of America. He used their crime rate per capita and extrapolate from that the percentage of crimes committed by illegals in Texas. Then he took the populations in all the other states and claimed that they would be the same as Texas. What he didn't say is firstly he wants open borders and secondly that many counties in Texas do NOT report illegal alien crime because they are sanctuary counties and flout the law.
