I already know what the response on this will be from Republicans.

But I must say, this will not help the McCain campaign.

For those of you that do not live in California .... here is a picture of part of the closed Fort Ord Army Base.

Fort Ord lies right on the coast of the Pacific Ocean near the city of Seaside, CA. and the highway straddled the base on the way to Monterey/Carmel. This area is probably some of the most expensive property south of San Francisco. It is awesome!

Years ago, part of the base was on one side of the freeway - while an overramp took you to the "coast" side of it. I'm not sure if (the coastline side) still was a part of the government land, or if it was part of the sale ... but at one time the Officer's Club of the base sat smack dab, on the cliffs, above the waves of this beautiful area of California.

Anyone that got the chance to buy this property even at 7.2 million dollars was getting PRIME PROPERTY, at one hellva deal.
