but IMO when there is an event as culturally iconic as Sunday's game is, a quintessentially American event viewed by tens of millions of people, the entertainment headliner should not perform in a foreign language.

Bad Bunny to be first artist performing at Super Bowl entirely in Spanish

Yes, Puerto Rico is an American territory. A terrific place to go for a vacation. However, the native tongue of Puerto Rican's is Spanish. And while the act in question had a very important visual component, most Americans had no idea what was being said. That's ludicrous.

I can't imagine any country having the main entertainment portion of the biggest single day event of the year be performed in a foreign language. Because is was a mistake to do so.

It’s not just that he sang in Spanish, but the music wasn’t that great and neither was the singing

Carlos Santana sang in Spanish but his songs were still great to listen to

The whole thing is yet another divide and conquer ploy by the elite. The billionaires who run the NFL love dividing Americans, just as the globalist elite does.

Don’t fall for it.

We finally agree on something.
It's not a close call, IMO. What a stupid idea. I don't think there is a good analogue but it would be like having the opening ceremony at Wimbledon performed in Gaelic.

This makes it worse.

Why did the NFL pick him to play the halftime of the Super Bowl?

Business. The NFL has expressed interest in recent years in expanding further into international markets and few artists have as big of an international footprint right now as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio. Plus, as Perry Johnson, a music scholar who teaches at USC's Annenberg school of communication, told me, there's notably higher ratings in years of greater halftime show controversy.

They know they must keep us divided so they can continue to empower and enrich themselves.

Sadly way too many Americans fall for the divisive tactics and as a result, hate their fellow Americans instead of the real culprits.

How do you see the NFL dividing us as a win for them?

They? Sorry, I'm not a "vast conspiracy" guy.

I agree, it was ridiculous. I can only image what people from other countries were thinking watching it. “Isn’t this an American game. Why are they singing in Spanish.” Many people from other counties speak English as a second language. Spanish, not so much. They couldn’t understand it either.

As an aside, I love football but couldn’t care less about the NFL anyway. Players only care about money. They don’t care about the city or state which their team represents. They didn’t choose to play for that team for any reason other than money. How fans have such loyalty to that I will never understand.

Unfortunately, college football is being tainted now as the players are being paid big money. It is headed down the same path. College players used to pick where they want to play because they loved the school. No longer. Why should fans be loyal to a team that is full of players that are only there because they were paid to be there?

It really does seem to be human nature that, when given the chance, we go too far with our "messaging". Especially when ideology is involved.

Maybe that's just a function of the terrible increasing tribalism into which this country has fallen. The response always seems to be over-reaction, over-compensation, over-correction.

I see that he was holding the Puerto Rican flag. This is another mistake I've seen the Left make many times over the years: They've essentially handed the American flag to the Right.

Big mistake. The American flag belongs just as much to the Left as it does to any other American across the political spectrum. By waiving it, the Left would saying that it's theirs, too, and that it doesn't belong to the Right to pervert.

Yeah it’s a vast conspiracy. LMFAO.

You like the MAGAs desperately want to believe your side of the uniparty are the good guys. Even after reading some of the Epstein Files, you're still stuck in the matrix.

Having BB sing in Spanish was the kind of self-inflicted mistake D's usually make. Really hard to believe the NFL made it.

The league has clearly made the decision to go down this road over the last few years.

I don't get it. A business, especially a sports business, is under no obligation to swim in these waters.

How does D's consorting with Epstein prove the existence of a vast conspiracy of elites? Time to get real.

See post #6. Supposedly it was a business decision. I don't see how pissing off your existing audience in an effort to gain a new one makes sense.

The main entertainment is the game not not some white liberal whore guilt halftime show. If it bothers you that liberals like to celebrate diversity and inclusion during the Super Bowl that is just your racism surfacing.

I just turn off the TV for 30 minutes and eat dinner, done that for years. Not sure why you watch the worst part of the Super Bowl and then cry about it.

Are you saying that Goodell at the draft is a Charlie Kirk guy. Stop spreading hate. We got enough of this.
