Actually the number probably is 11 million, just not the same 11 million.

The 11 million in 2007 have probably gone home, or found other ways of securing legal residency (DACA, sponsorship, marriage to a citizen, etc.)

The thing is, yes, if Trump attempts mass deportation, you are going to have a lot of crying children asking the camera where Mama has gone. You are going to have people who are legally entitled to be here being rounded up by mistake, which will look really bad.

The other problem, of course, is that illegals who are truly off the grid are pretty good at staying off the grid.

That may be true, but irrelevant. IMHO, existing law allows for deportations of individuals on a case by case basis, no? But mass deportations is another story, sorta like Biden's mass student loan forgiveness program that got shot down. He kinda did it anyway, but I'm guessing for a lot fewer cases. I don't know for sure, but deplacing some 30 million people is not a job to be taken lightly.

I’ve said it over and over again….to get enough done fast enough he’ll need to declare martial law so he can in effect make his own laws and utilize the military. Talking about seeking out, arresting and deporting 30-50 million criminals any other way is just plain retarded and a huge waste of time.
