"God" is a Title only!

The Vikings worshipped the "God of Thunder Thor",...... I don't see his name in The Bible.

The Canaanites worshipped the "God Moloch":

Act_7:43 You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship. I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’

But neither Moloch, nor Rephan, are "Gods",... In fact, they had any power, then it was Demonic, or of Satan/ HaSatan.

Many say "God Bless America!",.... But Truly now,..... Which "God" are they invoking? Thor? Moloch? Baal? Zeus? Astarte? One of the hundreds of different Hindu Gods?

"God" is a Title only!

Believe it or not, despite the public zeal of many of the "Jewish Sects",..... They Identify Him as "HaShem", which in Hebrew means "The Name"!

I'm thinking that after all of the Evil caused by the "Jews", as well as the "House of Yisrael", (which in a sense can be called "The House of Joseph"), that the "Jews" either are Scared to Death of invoking The Almighty LORD GOD's Name(s), or,...... They do not want any "Believer" to Know The Name(s) of Mankind's CREATOR, LORD, & SAVIOR.

How well Do You Know The Scriptures? Or,..... If all that You do is "Warm a Pew", while some "Man/Woman of God" gives You your "Weekly Programing",...... Have You Read, & Learned, or,.... Were You "Taught in the pew", that Our "GOD" has many Names, & that according to the Scriptures, ....... HE Wants to Be Known by them?

Do Arabic speaking Christians and Muslims both worship the same entity since 'Allah' is Arabic for 'God'?

That is the unknown obviously. G-d is an all-encompassing description. Whether Islamic, Jewish, Christian or otherwise, the way I see it if one believes in a monolithic being then we all worship to the same G-d. The only issue is a belief in which source/book is most believeable.and credible. Which Commands, principles and demand of humans most righteous.

From my novice understanding....

I've read that both Jews and Muslims regard themselves as children of Abraham and thus have a common God. Jews do not believe Jesus was a divine figure. Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet but wasn't crucified or resurrected.

As far as Christianity goes, belief in the Trinity has God comprised as the Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

So...like...just to heck with the sun worshipers, then?

Eman,

Where in The Scriptures is HE called a "Christian God"?
Nowhere. But the Bible does refer to other Gods, so saying "Christian God" is helpful to distinguish Him from the others.

And Yes,...... HE has a "Name", & many more.
He has multiple names in the Bible, including Elohim, Yahweh, Adonai, etc.

Also he's referred to as "I AM THAT I AM", although that could be a reference to Popeye.

God is the concept of intelligence/power greater than that of human beings. Modernly, this has coalesced into the idea of a unified entity that created the universe. The various names given to this entity are superficial distinctions.

Elohim, & Elohah are Descriptions & not Names.

YAHWEH, & YAH are Names, as is Yisrael, & Yerushalem.

There is only one God. And his church is the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day saints
I Disagree Retired.

The Actual "Church" or in the Hebrew to English , The "Quhal" is literally named in The Scriptures.

No,... I don't care for playing games, especially when it concerns Our Creator/LORD, & SAVIOR.

But since it upsets Your Personal Narrative, ... You have fun also.

"Elohim

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the Hebrew word. For other uses, see Elohim (disambiguation).
Elohim in Hebrew script. The letters are, right-to-left: aleph-lamed-he-yud-mem.
Elohim (Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים, romanized: ʾĔlōhīm [(ʔ)eloˈ(h)im]) is a Hebrew word meaning "gods" or "godhood". Although the word is plural (viz. the majestic plural) in form, in the Hebrew Bible it most often takes singular verbal or pronominal agreement and refers to a single deity, particularly but not always the God of Judaism. In other verses it takes plural agreement and refers to gods in the plural."

I Agree somewhat Shocked.

Problem is,.... Islam did not exist until the early 5th century, & it is not found in the "Canonized Scriptures"/"Un-Canonized Scriptures" directly.

The "Jews", are not united in their "Faith", & they have at least ten different Sects/"Movements", with the majority of those "Sects" honoring the written down "Oral Law", which is called "The Talmud", as well as other works, not found in The "Canonized Scriptures/"Un-Canonized Scriptures". To the best of my knowledge, only the "Messianic Jews" honor The Father & The Son. But even the "Messianics" have sub-sects that include "The Talmud". The "Orthodox Sect", which is the largest "Jewish Faith" honor "The Father", while denying "The Son", whom many prophetic Scriptures proclaim. These "Jews" do not use the several Names that The Almighty GOD proclaimed through Moses, &/or the prophets, and they call Him "HaShem", which means "The Name".

Catholicism, & It's "Breakaway Daughters" have thousands of widely different Beliefs.

"the way I see it if one believes in a monolithic being then we all worship to the same G-d."

I Diagree.

You are wrong in both of your suggestions, TruthSeeker112125. The ancient Jews STOPPED pronouncing the Divine name because of self-righteousness, when they decided that the Divine name was too sacred to be pronounced. As a result, the actual pronunciation of the Divine Name has been lost to history.
