The article doesn't mention how many if any are illegals. Many came seeking asylum which does not make them illegal. Might some be leaving thinking asylum is less likely? Could very well be.

But "some" leaving is hardly mass deportation.

I would go for a law that is widely publicized that if you come here intentionally without going through the required visa or immigration etc. policies, you will be deported and forever blacklisted and not allowed to immigrate legally or receive a visa to visit.

Thats a necessary change to our laws

Doing the right thing isnt always easy. There will be ups and downs along the way. Employers in many cases are forced to hire illegals simply because everyone else does. Step one should be to close the border and make unauthorized entry a felony crime

What method(s) would like to see used to deport them?

I've posted my ideas several times, the big one is to deport illegals anytime they come into contact with government. Get a traffic ticket-deport. Go to the hospital and apply for government benefits to pay-deport. Apply for welfare for their American-born children-deport. Make life so unpleasant and difficult that the majority self-deport at a time of their choice rather than chance being kicked out at a random time.

Yep, I didn't see any reason to release this if they are serious. Maybe illegals don't read the news but I bet someone who speaks their language have already informed them. I don't see them self deporting but rather moving underground somewhere in the U.S.
