Mandatory Military Service, and Mandatory Gun Ownership!

Countries that do this, not only have an extremely low incidence of Crime, but their Citizens get training in The Military and become far more employable. They also receive benefits like tuition assistance etc. which helps them further their education.

Rather than retreat from the issue of a lone lefty loon here and there who like to shoot unarmed kids, or concert goers, or Congressmen at a softball game, we need to confront the issue with proven solutions.

For those that want to know and cannot do the math using the figures cited below, gun homicides in The US Per Capita are only 0.00005%.

The Swiss Difference: A Gun Culture That Works | TIME.com

Switzerland trails behind only the U.S, Yemen and Serbia in the number of guns per capita; between 2.3 million and 4.5 million military and private firearms are estimated to be in circulation in a country of only 8 million people. Yet, despite the prevalence of guns, the violent-crime rate is low: government figures show about 0.5 gun homicides per 100,000 inhabitants in 2010. By comparison, the U.S rate in the same year was about 5 firearm killings per 100,000 people, according to a 2011 U.N. report.

Unlike some other heavily armed nations, Switzerland’s gun ownership is deeply rooted in a sense of patriotic duty and national identity. Weapons are kept at home because of the long-held belief that enemies could invade tiny Switzerland quickly, so every soldier had to be able to fight his way to his regiment’s assembly point. (Switzerland was at risk of being invaded by Germany during World War II but was spared, historians say, because every Swiss man was armed and trained to shoot.)

The Swiss don't have a wild west mentality. They have superior education and far less poverty.

Honestly I see your point but I would argue the very very low amount of violent crime in Switzerland despite a very high rate of gun ownership goes a lot further than your example. Although your argument is valid and plays into it.

Here is my theory as to why Switzerland has such low violent crime while having a lot of guns.

It's mostly because Switzerland is not diverse. Everyone in Switzerland speaks the same language, they look similar, they all share the same common mentality and customs and so on. Essentially the swiss are comfortable with each other and have a baseline sense of commonality. You can't even become a citizen unless you fluently speak the language, demonstrate you know the customs, pay a lot and wait a long time. Meanwhile America is too diverse with too many people that won't conform to our society, they want everyone to conform to them. Our society is a jumbled mess of people from a thousand cultures, backgrounds, countries, and religions that all want things to be how they want.

But people in Switzerland are also generally more content with their lives. They have in all of Europe very high ranked education, employment and medical care. Switzerland takes care of its people. Those things make for productive people that are more responsible. When you're responsible and fulfilled you tend to live a more peaceful life.

Switzerland stands by it's morals, standards and values. America does not, were always bending them, breaking them or lowering the bar to make some group happy. American values, pride, morals and so on are gone because we have them all up.

All of those things leads to a lazy, bored, dumb, anxious, angry, entitled society that will eventually break because it won't hold itself together.
