Quite an old story, goes back to 2008, but just recently stumbled across it -

A man who received a heart transplant 12 years ago and later married the donor's widow died the same way the donor did, authorities said: of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No foul play was suspected in 69-year-old Sonny Graham's death at his Vidalia, Ga., home, investigators said. He was found Tuesday in a utility building in his backyard with a single shotgun wound to the throat, said Greg Harvey, a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation
.

As the story goes, a guy committed suicide by gun shot wound to the throat. The victims wife donated his organs and a guy called Sonny Graham received the victims heart, transplanted and lived. He then went on to marry the victims wife, but he too committed suicide, a shot gun shot to the throat.

Coincidence?

No I don't think it's a coincidence I think is very definitely neural activity that stems from the heat...
It has been suspected before.

True. Why they would transplant such a heart is unconscionable.

Are you guys joking?

The only way the heart "caused" suicide is indirectly, as in perhaps living with the numerous side effects of the anti-rejection meds was too much for him or something

Yes

I did some reading years ago about limited neural connectivity between the heart and the Brain. Maybe just medical nonsense? Nonetheless it was an interesting article.

I'm sure there is some neural connectivity between the brain and the heart. I'm sure there is between the brain and al the major organs.

But saying the heart can "control" the brain and make people do things like commit suicide is nonsense you'd see in a poorly written soap opera

Maybe the brain actually influences or 'programs' the heart.

Pretty sad. But I'm kinda wondering what the wife was like.
