He wasn't standing his ground. He initiated a physical confrontation which didn't need to happen. There was no reason for him to persue Zimmerman.

It is what he did. Zimmerman never laid a hand on him. He attacked Zimmerman as he was walking back to his car.

Zimmerman told the dispatcher early in the call he lost Martin.
He continued that call for about another minute.
You cannot debate that Martin waited for Zimmerman because he never went back to the apartment he was staying at. If he wasn't planning to attack Zimmerman, WTF was he still doing there?
