Man accused of attacking TV reporter, saying 'This is Trump's America now'

Stereotyping isn't based in racism, it's based on a characteristic of the person and an assumption based on what others of that characteristic do

You can stereotype anyone, even those of the same ethnicity.

I never denied racism exists, but people are using the word too frivolously. "Racism" isn't a catch all for everything that you don't like.
I never said that stereotyping is only based on race.

It can be based on many things, but when you base a stereotype on race, it’s racism.

When you base a stereotype on gender, it’s sexist.

When you base a stereotype on religion, it’s bigoted.

This isn’t an example of the term being overused. It’s what it is.

No, it's not, unless you are intending a smear on that persons race directly. The guy want attacking him because he had brown skin, he attacked him because he perceived him to be here illegally. While that is wrong, it's not attacking him BECAUSE he is brown.

Now, if he would have attacked him and was making hateful statements about his ethnicity, THAT would be racism.

Kind of like when we talk about illegal immigration, we often decry that practice....not because we don't like mexicans, but because we don't like them breaking the law to get into the country. Really, it's more about the dems encouraging it, if we're being frank.
