That could mean a shot once a month. Many when stable can be treated out patient but then have to show up. PTSD just requires experiential therapy maybe some anxiety meds.
I worked at Temple University Hospitals Psych unit. We treated many schizophrenics from the street as well as brain damaged alcoholics. We would get them stable during a mandatory commitment. It could take 3 or more months. Then we have to discharge them. 6 months later they are back again.

Modern medicine can create miracles with psychosis. But they have to keep taking them. There are people not mentally competent to mange their lives. We just had one for president. Democrats used him like they use the homeless
