Malta: Bishop Proposes Every Parish Adopt A Refugee Family From Iraq, Syria

Perhaps every parish, not only in Malta, but also in Europe and the Western hemisphere should adopt a Christian Syrian refugee family. It doesn't mean you have to take a family into your home like a formal adoption but to help them get settled by raising funds to help them with an apartment, taking them shopping, getting them acclimated to a new culture, etc. Much of this was done by Americans for the boat people from Vietnam.

A Catholic bishop in Malta has suggested that each parish in his diocese should adopt a family of Christian refugees from persecution in the Middle East.
