I don’t see any Conservatives renaming streets Malcolm X Boulivard
 
In the early 70's, Alex Haley's "Autobiography of Malcolm X" was read by virtually all young people in college, regardless of race. There is nothing in the linked article that is a surprise to anyone who read the book.

There was no profound meaning in his killing. He had merely pissed off a powerful group of Black racists by exposing their leader as a charlatan and their belief system as totally made-up bullshit.

Like a lot of "sources," people of many different viewpoints can find Malcolm X quotations that fit their personal ideologies. He changed his thinking dramatically toward the end of his life, as did MLK, Jr. Maybe if Malcolm had lived another 20 years he would have realized that Islam itself is a badly flawed belief system, and come "back" to Christianity.
