Talking Points Memo’s ever-astute Josh Marshall points out something that’s been bugging me for a day about the Las Vegas Cybertruck suicide bombing by Matthew Livelsberger. Marshall writes:

Most headlines I’d seen in the news report only that he warned of national decline and bore “no ill will toward Mr. Trump”, in the words of one of the investigators. That gloss on Donald Trump is, shall we say, a bit of an understatement….

Here are samples from Livelsberger’s “minifestos”:

Military and vets move on DC starting now. Militias facilitate and augment this activity.
Occupy every major road along fed buildings and the campus of fed buildings by the hundreds of thousands.
Lock the highways around down with semis right after everybody gets in. Hold until the purge is complete.
Try peaceful means first, but be prepared to fight to get the Dems out of the fed government and military by any means necessary. They all must go and a hard reset must occur for our country to avoid collapse….
Rally around the Trump, Musk, Kennedy, and ride this wave to the highest hegemony for all Americans!

Which means this was clearly and obviously pro-Trump terrorism.

I understand why law enforcement officers downplay Livelsberger’s motivation — they’re mostly pro-Trump themselves.

But why isn’t this pro-Trump terrorism being reported as such in the mass media?

Are the New York Times, CNN, etc. all going to prostrate themselves in front of Trump and MAGA for the foreseeable future? Is the mass media going to content itself with saying drivel like NBC News’s “Soldier who died in Cybertruck left writing criticizing government, authorities say” which merely says that the truck bomber was a “patriotic soldier”?!?!

Hero, loses valor, becomes terrorist, commits Jihad.

At least he got the Jihadist part right.

He was a sick individual. I doubt Trump had anything to do with it
tRump's incendiary rhetoric has everything to do with it.

Haven't you noticed that all these assassination attempts and other violent acts have been carried out by current and former tRumplings?

That's not a coincidence.

His ex-girlfriend said he had suffered a traumatic brain injury.

“He described all the same symptoms as a textbook,” Arritt, 39, said to KKTV. “In 2020, he was having paranoia and nightmares. He was exhausted and depressed. He was gaining weight and he couldn’t think.”

She claimed that highly-decorated soldier was plagued by trouble sleeping, pain, concussions and memory loss due to the military service that he wasn’t ready to give up.

CNN reported that he had recently sought treatment from the Army for depression. But the stigma that surrounds mental health in active-duty military members may have led to his downfall.

“If he got flagged for having depression or having a [traumatic brain injury], he would’ve been made non-deployable and he absolutely did not want that. He wanted to be there for his guys,” said Arritt, who parted ways with Livelsberger, 37, in 2021.

The two had met on a dating app, and bonded over the outdoors and time in the military.
“I first met him after a recent deployment to Afghanistan and he was struggling with some concussions and blast injuries he had. He was just exhausted from the back to back tours,” Arritt told the outlet.

Even though Livelsberger and Arritt lost contact for nearly two years, he messaged her the day before his apparent suicide, sending videos of the Cybertruck. In surveillance footage surrounding the hotel’s entrance, the Tesla was covered in flames after detonating.

“The VA has gotten so much better about caring for these veterans, but active duty, they don’t treat them,” Arritt said. “They just keep them in the war until they’re used up and then the VA takes care of them after they’re out.”

He received a Bronze Star five times, with a highly-regarded military career. He left messages that said he needed to cleanse his mind after killing people and seeing fellow soldiers die. He had an arm tattoo, with bullets going through two skulls, embodying the lives he ended in Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press.

Because corporate/legacy media were instrumental in putting Trump bake in the WH – the consequence of their incompetence and dereliction and the financial windfall of four years of Trump chaos, corruption, and criminality.

And how exactly did they accomplish that?

A terrorist attack against Trump is actually an act supporting Trump

If I blow up Trump Tower that means I am encouraging people to join Trump.

And democrats claim they are smart
