I'd rather give Israel money for a couple of reasons:
1) They're the only Western democracy in the Middle East

There leader has been up on corruption charges for years...

2) They produce some brilliant minds, including some in the defense field

Israel has always played biggest bully on the block in the ME...with our money and equipment. Long past time to cut little brother loose and make him stand on his own. Compare the size of "the biggest bully on the block in the ME" with the Arab world. The Muslim world threatens the existence of Israel. Israel does not threaten the existence of the Muslim world. Israel only wants to survive on a small sliver of territory.
