I’m glad she came back and won gold this time around, but she did quit in 2020 and cost the team the gold medal.

She considered her own safety more important than winning a medal.

Quitting under stress is exactly what she did in the 2020 Olympics. When she was taken to task by the public, she returned for one event. That doesn't take away from her abilities as a gymnast, but it is telling about her character when she was willing to let her team members down.

No one is going to be crippled falling three or four feet off a balance beam onto a heavily padded floor. An athlete took a far worse fall off (I believe) the uneven bars kicked herself in the head and continued to compete.

Apparently we have quite a few former towel boys in this thread.

When you compete at a high level, the competition is as much mental as it is physical. If not more so.

Hell, I play golf with guys that can carry 300 in a straight line at the driving range. Then they shank it 4 or 5 times on the course.

Biles did the honorable and courageous thing to withdraw and to let her teammates compete without the burden of an athlete that was not mentally fit for competition.

What she did was strong and brave. What the weasels like the simp in the OP link and the towel boys in this thread are doing is cruel, weak, and cowardly.
