Musk (and other wealthy tech leaders) want to increase legal immigration and the number of H1B visas in order to get the skills they need. Yet other MAGA diehards are dead set against this because it undermines the opportunities for American workers.

In a real working government we'd see a place for training and apprenticeships to increase the skill levels in the workforce but in the mess that is MAGA we see infighting as differing ideologies emerge and the tensions become visible to us all.

I myself am an immigrant originally working here on a H1B Visa, but I also advocate for training programs and apprenticeships and feel that the tech sector should be compelled - by laws - to offer training to address any skills shortage rather than bringing thousands of Indian and Chinese workers.

Do you welcome the printing of more and more H1B Visas to bring foreign workers in (who take their money out to spend elsewhere) rather than supporting the training and apprenticeships for Americans who'd love the opportunity to work in these areas?

What's wrong with legislation that says for every H1B based employee you hire from abroad you MUST hire and provide basic training for an American citizen who meets basic eligibility tests, aptitude tests etc. ?

Companies left to their own devices pursue a strategy that benefits investors - not workers, not the American people, INVESTORS.
