Lived there for about a year back in the 80's, but moved back the DFW. From what I've heard, Austin is 10X worse than it was back then.

I have an old college buddy who was an NFO in the Navy and when he retired from the Navy, he worked for a company in Asheville. About 6 months ago, he suddenly retired and left for Northern Alabama. He is fairly conservative and very religious. I think the libs ran him out!

It was a good place for talented alternative instrumental,bluegrass type bands. Now it nothing but rap/gang type junk there.
