Macron’s Popularity Craters in 2025 Amid Personal and Political Turmoil

Once hailed as a visionary centrist, French President Emmanuel Macron has become one of the most unpopular leaders on the global stage in 2025. According to 'Visual Capitalist', Macron now suffers from a disapproval rating exceeding 60%, placing him among the least liked leaders worldwide—alongside figures like Pedro Sánchez and Olaf Scholz.

Macron’s domestic reputation has hit rock bottom. A damning 'Ifop' poll reported by 'Le Journal du Dimanche' shows his approval ratings at their lowest since taking office in 2017. Prime Minister François Bayrou hasn’t fared any better, sinking to record lows himself.

Even Macron’s international appearances haven’t saved him from scrutiny. Though radical-left 'The Guardian' portrays him as relishing his role on the global stage—especially in contrast to Donald Trump—at home, his image is in free fall.

Adding to his public disgrace, a widely circulated clip shows his wife, Brigitte Macron, publicly slapping him before a state visit in Vietnam—an incident that went viral and fed into growing perceptions of a president increasingly isolated and embattled.

As Macron clings to international relevance, his grip on domestic legitimacy continues to unravel. The message from the public is clear: the French are done with Macronism.

Frustrated by his plunging popularity, Macron first attempted to salvage his image through high-profile global summits. But after the humiliating slap from his wife went viral, he pivoted to distraction—seeking to rally support by courting the Arab world, using a symbolic “Palestine” recognition campaign as a political springboard.

Macron is French

Why yes. Yes he is.

Given that you knew that, why didn't you post the material in the Europe sub-forum in the first place.

Humorous attempt at trying to play it off after the fact, though.

Anyway...now that we're in the Europe sub-forum where the thread belonged in the first place.

With regard to the OP, do you have any thoughts of your own on the matter, or are you just gonna run with that complete copypasta of the FreeRepublic material?

Though I did notice that you took the liberty of changing the title of the FreeRepublic material here.

Is that your complaint?

Is that your complaint?

Not really a complainer.

I am a bird.

Sometimes I may leave a subtle hint to the maudes as I did in post #2 and maybe they see it, maybe they don't.

With regard to your question pertaining to complaints, what had happen wuh that I had asked you if you had any thoughts of your own on the matter or if you were just gonna remain content to run with that complete copypasta of the FreeRepublic material, change the title, and hope nobody noticed while pawning it off as your own.

So...do you?

Yes, we've already established that the thread was moved to the more relevant sub-forum.

And clearly for the same reason I referenced in post #2.

My thoughts?

1. Macron is unpopular even before the above sources. Such as in 2024.
2. He tries to be a 'leader' and he found a toy.

Well heck. You could have just memed that pablum instead of going to such dirty, rotten, filthy, stinking, conniving, under-handed lengths.

FR isn't the primary source for the post. But EOZ.

Doesn't really matter at this point. The same material has been planted in various platforms word for word. I know the drill.

A couple of your more dedicated crew who regularly work the basement section on behalf of Lukid's geo-political interests have been on an anti-Macron binge lately because he's not carrying water for the Likud's propaganda program.

I knew whose propaganda you were hustling from the start, man, regardless of any effort to mask it.

These itemized endeavors...oh...let's call em ''talking points''...often occur in short, repetitive bursts across various platforms where foreign interests are often most actively operating to influence average Americans.

I told you...I am a bird...

Hey, at least you got away with not linking and therefore revealing the actual source of the entire copypasta in your OP, as well as not providing even a sentence of your own thoughts, even if you didn't get away with dropping it in the American matters section.

I guess two out of three ain't bad. :dunno:

And you're still open...

Not sure it helped him domestically. After all.

Are you saying that you are for the leftists propaganda? The party you mentioned is on the right.

I don't do that 'left'' and ''right'' gambit.

They're meaningless terms.

I'm not a road sign.

Also...since I'm reminded by your question, that whole ''hey, hurry up and pick a side and don't concern yourself with the actual plot'' gambit is another thing.

There's probably a thousand whose side are you on / pick a side poll threads on here.

I'm just not interested in a pecker waving contest. And that's pretty much the universal outcome...and intent, too add, in dropping a loaded question like that.

Also.

I see that the only content from my thought there that you included was the single word typo that I made.

In the next sentence of my thought I correctly typed Likud. Just so you know. Which you do. Heh heh.

Happens.

That's something else...another humorous thing some people do... One of your crew working his station down in the basement sub-section just highlighted one of my typos by quoting only the single word typo in the same way you did here.

... geo-political ...

Geopolitical you say?

Ambitions:

Islamist geo political. Sunni geopolitical headed by Saudis.

Shiite empire geopolitical headed by Islamic fascist Republic of Iran.

In reality.

Qatar is today's Islamization no. 1.

(Including via bribing US universities, paying for "protests", hosting "news" like al Jazeera, and even hosting Tucker... bribing Trump with a plane...)

And all Islamists exploit the Arab "palestinians" interested in prolonged suffering to use it.

Especially the Goliath islamic lobby OIC control of UN

I think that the whole lot of em over in that area of the world are a bunch of hooligans.

And I'm pretty sure the whole lot of em are bribing US officials, US universities, paying for "protests" on our soil and in our institutions and hosting "news."

They're importing their entire operation over here, the whole lot of em.

Our laws, and even our constitution, are starting to be challenged, largely by those in government who are beneficiaries of the bribes.

All comes back to intent...and I think that is the intent here, as it pertains to those US matters you referenced there.

And, of course, there's always the foaming chops of the hawks looking to plant their flag in anticipation of the next forever war. Looks like they're shooting for a home game this time instead of an away game. This loaded turmoil isn't being imported here for nothing. Pft...
