"Emoluments" refers to a SITTING President ---- one who's *IN* office. Not people who used to be.

Virtually everybody who's garnered notoriety, in politics or elsewhere, has stood to profit from that notoriety. Book contracts, speeches/lectures, movies, merchandise, whatever. What turnip truck did you fall off of.
