Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., said that the SAVE Act, a voter ID law, may advance in the Senate with the standing filibuster.

"Just left the White House. POTUS wants the SAVE America Act passed! Voter ID is number one," Luna posted on X on Monday. "Today, Schumer said he wants mass amnesty for all illegals and to immediately stop all ICE efforts.

"After speaking with many senators, as well as directly with POTUS, the pathway forward is through the standing filibuster. This would effectively keep the government open while allowing Republican senators to break through the 'zombie' filibuster and put the SAVE America Act up for a vote on the Senate floor. The standing filibuster is not common parliamentary procedure, but it is one of the only mechanisms available to go around senators who want to block voter ID," she added.

"@LeaderJohnThune we are very pleased that you are discussing the standing filibuster, and we believe you will go down in history if this is pulled off as one of the best leaders the Senate has ever had. Voter ID is a must, and the ball is now in your court."

Doesn't sound like ending the filibuster, but forcing them to adhere to an actual filibuster:

"The standing filibuster requires senators opposing the bill to hold the floor with continuous debate to block it, or else it will go to a simple majority vote."

I'm kinda OK with this. If you're going to filibuster, then debate. Reading from the phone book or encyclopedia should not count.

The zombie filibuster is a procedure in the United States Senate that allows senators to block or delay legislation without engaging in continuous speech.

I’m ok with that too. Make the obstructionist leftist rabble in the Senate work for the delay until their voices wear out.

I was thinking about the whole "shoe on the other foot" thing but the country is so FUBAR due to vile dem craziness and obstructionism I think we need to strike while the iron is hot.

so why are you all terrified of it?
I met a 90 year old woman the other day who can’t get on a plane because they won’t give her a real ID until she can get someone to dig up her marriage certificate from a city 1000 miles away from the 1950s to prove she is who her birth certificate says.

Dems not supporting this would hurt them. Even CNN showed a 71% support from Dem voters for I.D

She needs only to contact the state in question and then pay for the processing and mailing.

The entire country should not be at risk for one person, 90 years old or 18.

You realize that she has had more than 20 years to take care of this, yes?

She can get on without a RealID it takes a little longer and has an upcharge.

Also, you realize that this has nothing to do with this story, yes?

Close the bathrooms for the entire 'standing filibuster'.

For the ladies, two corks.

Nobody cares.

I don't have Real ID but I'm not so "privileged" that I would expect the TSA to break the rules just for me.

Tell her to take a train or bus. :)
