So basically, coronavirus cases in Louisiana have spread faster in the first two weeks of the state's outbreak than they have in other states and countries across the world..and what does the governor do? He blames it all on Mardi Gras -- an event that brings millions and millions of dollars of business to that city....Instead of assigning the blame to the poor leadership of New Orleans and the poor quality and character of the people who live there -- you want to blame it on a revenue generator like Mardi Gras??

"I happen to believe that people coming from all over the country and over the world that a fair amount of virus was seeded if that's the word,” Edwards said. Edwards is warning that the New Orleans area could run out of hospital beds by April 4"

You have no idea if Mardi Gras accelerated the spread of the virus -- you just pulled that out of your fat rear end......Should you have shut down Mardi Gras, the economic impact would have resulted in far more death and disaster than any overhyped virus can cause...once again, its mainly the liberal shit hole cities who have most of the issues dealing with this cold virus -- you don't see these problems in conservative cities like Boise or Mesa or Lubbock...open up the economy now or thousands will die in the coming few few months -- if not millions...

Okay, that's not the only reason, but I was surprised they didn't cancel MardiGras this year. But it WAS early days: the US had only 57 cases on February 25, and 40 were connected to the cruise ship Diamond Princess.

No one wanted to believe the experts; now we're paying the price. And STILL people won't listen to the experts. Go figure.

You're comparing Mesa, Lubbock, and Boise with a city like New Orleans? Sheesh. But since you asked. Hint...this virus is a problem everywhere. Even in those good conservative cities run by just and righteous Republicans. :)

I suspect that the virus was spread in N'olins through the showing of liberal tits.

Thankfully, our ever-so-righteous, pussy grabbing POTUS will hold back aid as punishment for their depravity. :D

Having lived in Boise for 22 years until moving to Oregon Coast last year, the city itself is solidly purple. D controlled city council and D female mayor.

That is probably why COVID has paid them a visit and all their restaurants and bars are now closed ;)

You know, in my haste to press the send button I almost forgot to include my favorite red city that routinely appears on Live PD.

Again, just proof positive that this virus doesn't distinguish between red and blue. Cities are more prone to quicker spread of outbreaks because you have a large amount of people in a confined space.

I did not know that. The OP mentioned them as a city not having issues with the virus. I was just pointing out that it had landed there.
Idaho is a beautiful state.

Progs start with good intentions. Then things go to hell. They leave and start the same process over again. There comes a maximum benefit for an economical cost and by golly it must cost a lot more to get that extra few per cent and we are going to do it. In program and agenda after program and agenda. There has to be a realization that humanity has not created shang ri la yet. A collapse would have ended this.

LOL. One could say the same thing about the ideology of conservatism. Running back to the same policy failures year in and year out. At least progs present new ideas. They may be pie in the sky, but it isn't same old same old, it'll work this time because we're the ones doing it. :)

Red or blue, the virus does not differentiate.

Idaho is a beautiful state.

Boise was fastest growing city or top three past four years in a row per Forbes. If you haven't been there in awhile it's visit worthy. Enjoyed my time there - Cool place to live, work and shop. Was just time for me to make a change.

Liberals never start with good intentions -- their intention is always designed to destroy America and Jesus stuffs

Louisiana is an outlier for a flyover state. They gave priority to Mardi Gras instead of the virus and even though they are hospitable and nice people, the average intelligence level for most of their inhabitants, is just a tad over educable mentally retarded. Then also add that Dimms govern them.

the left showing again, americans being american is wrong. just wrapped that package up. thank you!

No one wanted to believe the experts; now we're paying the price. And STILL people won't listen to the experts. Go figure.
In a democracy, the people rule, and a month ago, few people would have supported extreme measures, and for good reason. Our experts, Fauci and others, say the crisis will spread and then decline on a bell shaped curve even if we do nothing at all, but they don't know how long this will take. They say if we take extreme measures it will probably flatten the curve, but they don't know by how much. They say they don't know if the virus will go away with warm weather as the seasonal flu does.

Yet the experts say we should prepare for the worst and lock down the whole country if necessary. If you are a young healthy person, the worst case scenario for you is probably that you will be sick for a couple of weeks and then return to your normal life, so you might ask, why not just quarantine the most vulnerable people until this crisis is past and allow the rest of us to go about our business? Not an unreasonable question.

Don't get me wrong, I am at high risk from this virus and I would not like to be quarantined, but there is a certain logic to this argument I cannot ignore.
