I'm tired of all the regular chocolate items here in America.

I've been wanting something chocolate and crunchy.....preferably with pecans in it.
Not hard crunchy, but has some crunch to it.

I'm just tired of all the cakes, pies, candy bars, cookies, etc, that are available.

I've really been wanting Napoleans very badly lately, but I can't find any patisserie, French bistro, or bakery that makes them.

I'd also like something that doesn't have much sugar in it, as I don't like super sweet treats/desserts.

Anybody know of anything I could try to see if I like it, thats different from all the "normal" stuff????

.

Maybe just learn to make Napoleons at home and vow not to go overboard?

I can't give up chocolate for Lent, because I already have. I lose control over Tony's Chocolonely Milk Chocolate.

If it's a homemade thing, then its got to be simple for me to make.
Napoleans are pretty ingredient heavy as far as making them. And I can never make that special dough.

Try European chocolates, I oresume you have a few from Switzerland and other nations. Check out the grams of fat though, the European chocolates.always seem to have such a high content.

Isn't it just regular puff pastry? It's available at stores.

But what do I know? My brother used to be a pastry chef, so I never had to make anything in the bakery department.

Good luck, Dr. D.

Tired of regular chocolate in America? Heresy! Heresy, I say!
You must make the pilgrimage to the holy place of Hershey, Pennsylvania, at once!

I've used that store bought pastry sheets before, and they're tasteless.

Plus, my kitchen is tiny, and I really don't have the room to be working with all that stuff. I'd rather just custom order it from a place.

Do you have any stores in your area that sell international foods?

You seem to have a love/hate relationship with chocolate. Try more quality, less quantity. See's chocolate is the best.

See's is all sugar. I can't eat it, it makes my teeth hurt.

Thats why I like Ghirardelli, its got more chocolate than sugar.

Try cooking for yourself like people have been doing for all of human history.

2nd poster beat me to it. Just make your own. I manufacture my own fudge and lemonade right here at home.

Have you tried Aztec chocolate? No sugar!

I'm really not looking for a chocolate bar. I'm wanting something chocolatey with some crunch to it.
Some sort of dessert thing I've never heard of before or something different I can find at a European bakery...........or something like that.
