Liberals, please help me to understand the outrage over "cultural appropriation"

Someone once said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. So why is it somehow immoral or unethical for someone to "appropriate" something from another culture that they admire? Or are you a liberal that believes the whole "cultural appropriation" thing is absurd?

They're liberals so what makes you think they understand it? Appropriation is just another of the phony issues for them to wet their pants over.
