He suffered a temporary paid killer addiction, something that happens to millions of Americans. Holding that over his head forever is just crappy. But you Leftists are despicable people who would do just that. May you be judged just as harshly for your past mistakes.
He was addicted to "paid killers"?? I don't think that happens to many people.
Then you're an idiot.
Prescription Drug Abuse Top 10 Things CDC Says You Should Know The Rundown PBS NewsHour
You're the one who claimed he was addicted to paid killers, not pain killers. I know, just a typo. I normally wouldn't hold a pain killer addiction against anyone, but Limbaugh has been quite outspoken about his desire to see drug offenders severely penalized. I guess when it is his own "hillbilly heroin" addiction, it should be treated differently from some regular citizen's transgressions. Rich people get rehab and no legal repercussions, while poor people get prison time.
You're like one of many Leftists who never listen to his show and go on what others say about him. He doesn't take strong stands like that, his art is parody. His show isn't preachy and not once did he say he wants drug offenders severely penalized. Now maybe you're assuming that because he's conservative and other conservatives have taken definitive stands on drug abuse, that he takes the same position, but he doesn't. Why don't you try actually listening to him, because nothing you say is based on what actually comes out of the EIB Network.
And on another note, very few if any conservatives think that drug abusers should be severely punished. Drug pushers yes, but not drug addicts. There's a very human side of this issue that reveals that throwing addicts in jail doesn't solve the problem. Most conservatives are very well are and sympathetic of this dynamic. So your accusation of hypocrisy is really based on a myth that Leftists tell one another in lieu of the truth and Rush Limbaugh's past pain killer addiction is not an act of hypocrisy. If you actually listened to his show, you'd know this.
Here it is, straight from the horse's mouth (or ass):
"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.
...We are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country.... This country certainly appears to be tolerant, forgive and forget. I mean, you know as well as I do, you go out and commit the worst murder in the world and you just say you're sorry, people go, "Oh, OK. A little contrition."... People say, "I feel better. He said he's sorry for it." We're becoming too tolerant, folks."
