I know this is anecdotal evidence and means little but my entire registered democrat immediate family all switched sides in November and voted for Trump. I have been in an ongoing ideological fight with them for years. I dare not and have not said I told you so but I told them so.

Because being a conservative means believing in a higher power than the federal government. Being a conservative means you believe in self-responsibility. Being a conservative means treating all people equal--not dividing them into dozens of groups and picking which ones you like and which ones you hate.

Being a conservative means believing in the US Constitution and understanding the brilliance of our founders. Being a conservative means the belief that one should take care of themselves and their family--not the government. Being a conservative means you also believe you were gifted by God to be born in the greatest country on earth, and recognize that this country is where dreams are created. Being a conservative means the belief in burning the communist manifesto, and not burning our American flag.

That's why you become conservative.
