The OP has a warped concept of the meaning of free speech. It really makes no difference who the owner of a publication fires or hires or what message they want to transmit is. None of the OP's business or anyone elses. Free speech means being able to say what you want, especially about politics and government. For every conservative offended by a liberal publication there is a liberal offended by a conservative publication.
On another point, most media and persons involved with media have a good concept of how various terms have been misused and distorted to the point of making them unusable for civil discourse. Socialism and fascism are two of some the most troublesome. These words have been so misused that using them simply does not convey a common meaning. They were words used to demonize and linked together so as to represent all liberals, progressives. socialist and Democrats with the dictators and mass murderers of WWll and Stalin. Rational conservatives are at a stark disadvantage within their movement. As rationality isn't the lingua franca of conservatives. Fear is. While individaul conservatives can buck the trend and address the world in pragmatic, thougthful terms, as a movement they're driven by emotion.
