There were no "Jewish authorities" in Palestine.
There were no Jewish authorities until after 1948 when the UN created Israel.
Jewish immigration to Palestine was facilitated by German authorities and Palestinian authorities.
And clearly Hitler did not bother Jews whose loyalty was proven by being in the military.
The only Jews who were harmed were those suspected of being spies similar to the Jews who traded German secrets for the Balfour Declaration in WWI.

They first went to Medina in Saudi Arabia.
So from 500 AD to 1922 AD, we know there were fewer than 30k Jews in Palestine.
From around 1932 AD to 1948 AD almost a million Jewish immigrants to Palestine.
Palestine is the Arab Land of Canaan, where the Canaanites, Chaldeans, Akkadians, Nabateans, Amorites, Urites, Philistines, Phoenicians, etc. lived.
The Hebrew did not invade until around 1000 BC, and were defeated in only 200 years later by the Assyrians.
Jews were never a majority and only ruled for those 200 years.
Its easy to prove that there were no significant Jews in Palestine before 1932.
When WWI happened and the British sent in Lawrence of Arabia to get help from the Palestinians to fight the Ottoman empire, not a single Jew joined the fight.

Therein lies the problem. When people convert to Islam it is considered RETURNING to God/Islam (whatever the proper term is). In other words Islam believes that we are all of us born Muslim so when we go through the ritual of baptism-confirmation-etc. of Christianity whatever, we are becoming infidels .... or as I guess you might say "traitors".
