Agreed. The elites (the Political class), are patting themselves on the back for their ingenuity for taking 100 years to create the new slavery with themselves in charge.

It is all about disempowerment because in the mind of a liberal, individual freedom for the masses is evil. This is because we eat too much, drive cares that are too big, live in houses too big, use light bulbs that use too much energy etc.

This disempowerment comes in three forms because our power is in three forms.

1. Wealth. Make it near impossible to become wealthy reduces the number of those who have a chance at changing politics like the Founding Fathers did with their wealth.

2. Weapons. Take away their weapons so that an uprising is near impossible like the Founding Fathers did.

3. Knowledge. Take away the power of our knowledge with such things as a public education system that comes in 48th in the world. Just imagine how fruitless the American revolution would have been had the Founding Fathers not been wise and educated. All of their efforts would have been in vain had they not created a sustainable form of government that was sensitive to personal freedom.

If Progressives are able to continue to wage war against these three things, then we will suffer the same fate at the slaves on the plantation.

Apparently you are either ignorant or want to hide the real story of what George H. W. Bush did.
After 10 years of failed trickle down philosophy the economy was heading for a major depression/recession. Bush had two choices. He could continue down the same road and let the economy turn into a disaster or he could raise taxes and pump that money back into the economy. He chose the second and the recession/depression never happened. The economy started to rebound. And yes, the Democrats did hammer him for his not following through on his own words: "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES."
The bottom line is that his decision saved the US from a recession/depression. He had to have known that his decision would probably cost him the presidency but he made the hard choice. It took courage for Bush to make that decision and that is why we was honored with the Kennedy award.
If any republican acted with that type of courage today he would be thrown under the bus so fact it would make your head spin. If H. W. were in politics today he would be treated like dog meat by the republicans. Frankly I doubt if he would want to be a member to the republican party of today.
Oh, and by the way, the progressives fuk'en hate you right back.
