Let's destroy the world, with solar

VPP's are going to be a major user of solar. These can be on residential roofs, warehouse roofs. commercial parking lots, over canals, in fact anywhere that you have a clear access to sunshine.

Wind and solar are the future of energy generation, they are presently the least costly of new forms of generation, and when used together, compliment each other. There are many methods of grid scale storage that can be used, and when combined with renewables, cost far less than fossil fuels or nuclear, and have none of the pollution of fossil fuels or dangers of nuclear. They are the future.

Right now, the biggest obstacle, is the cost and the fact that they dont work. But the wind and solar energy companies believe they can overcome the fact that they dont work by building more, and building bigger. The only real problem, is that we can not spend that much money in the next 50 years. The problem is that the cost is $100's of trillions of dollars. It is a never ending heavy industry of chemicals and toxic waste. So much so, that the cost has to spread across a hundred years.

In Germany, wind energy output is going down because the Wind Turbines can not be replaced as fast as they are failing.

In Germany, wind energy output is also down because they have had next to nothing for wind, in months.

"Onshore wind power - the cornerstone of Germany's decarbonisation plans - has suffered from chronically low additional installations in the past years. The industry seems to have achieved a turnaround in 2020, connecting almost 50 percent more turbines to the grid than in the year before, but lobby groups warn that new construction still fails to match climate targets and rising green power demand. Making better use of existing locations through modernisation and a clear target on how much capacity is needed by 2030 are crucial steps to ensure that national and EU energy transition ambitions can be fulfilled, industry lobby groups cautioned. [UPDATE: adds NGO proposal for Building Code adjustment that promotes more land to be used for onshore wind installations]"

"Renewable energies accounted for 55.8 percent of Germany’s net electricity generation during the first half of 2020, according to new figures released on Wednesday by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE).

The record first half of 2020 included a new high monthly record of 61.8% renewable energy, set in February."

But, it is the 2nd half of 2021? Should we not talk about today, instead of yesterday?

I would say, a 20% drop is significant. I guess that is why Europe is suffering the largest rise in energy costs, ever seen in the history of europe.

While solar power generation grew slightly by two percent compared to 2020, wind power production both from offshore and onshore turbines dropped 20 percent "mostly due to the weather,"
