The fine governor Ronnie the Ray Gun started California on the road to ruin. The next few repuke governors kept it going. We finally got a good guy Gray Davis and the big money repukes got a recall and we wound up with shwartsenits. Jerry has been back and things are going rather well again. And Detroit was destroyed by ray Guns outsourceing.
Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good God man...Reagan left office in 1975!!........42 years ago!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHA
Reagan was the first of the Arnold and Donald club, an inexperienced ideologue who won an election and didn't know what to do, except cut taxes and cut government.
In the same era the Real Estate cartel was able to pass Prop. 13, the tax cut which benefited Big Business and Big Industry and screwed the next two generations of home owners with high real estate taxes, and saved Southern Pacific and other large land owners billions of dollars.
Later two more Republican Governors raided local tax revenue and used it, so as not to need to pass the necessary taxes to fully fund state government. In their wisdom (sarcasm alert) they filled the prisons with low level drug addicts and three strikers (whose final arrest may have been a misdemeanor and led to a 25 to life sentence) while local government cut Police and sheriff agencies, Probation Staff, Social Service staff, and Mental Health (which Gov. RR made local government fund)
We will see the same game if Trump and Ryan get their way by changing the tax code - none dare call it reform - and rewarding the top 5% and corporations with a massive tax break.
Sure, a single page tax form with a double standard deduction sounds good until one considers that as time goes on the once and no more itemized deductions eliminated (real estate tax, state taxes, local taxes, etc.) will grow and the Standard Deduction will remain the same.
Smart people don't let friends vote for Republicans.
