Was Lee Harvey Crooks seen walking around the Butler area with an AR-15 leading up to the shooting?

From what Ive seen and heard, he was apparently NOT see with the AR-15 while walking around the grounds

If that’s true the rifle must have been placed on the roof already

Crooks was there several days before. He likely placed the rifle on the roof stashed there (maybe in a bag matching the roof color) to hide it.

He bought a ladder the day before but apparently did not need it and found his way up using an air conditioner.

Crooks was caught with a rangefinder the day of the rally, detected by a metal detector, despite that, they left Crooks go on his way. No doubt he used it to help gauge windage and distance to help him better aim his shots.

OP, this situation is just another case of white privilege biting you in the ass.

Law enforcement saw a white guy w/a gun, and like the cops who shooed off Kyle Rittenhouse, they thought to themselves, "Oh he's one of US, so all good."

A Black guy w/a gun in the same situation wouldn't have even made it up the ladder to take position, he'd have been riddled w/bullets to the back and have been labeled "a good shoot."

That's what you get when injustice in the law is normal and allowed to persist.

It has to stop.

No one really knows and probably never will. They speculate that he did stash it, possibly around an AC unit on or near the building.

Drones are a dime-a-dozen these days and easily equipped with high-quality, inexpensive cameras. You would expect the security there to have provided at least a few.
