Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier made an embarrassing, off-ice blunder when he mistakenly praised Nelson Mandela’s apparent athletic abilities.
Bernier -- who was attending a Toronto Raptors event celebrating Mandela’s life and legacy on Friday -- said the late South African leader was "one of the most (well) known athletes in the world."
The Quebec native went on to talk about Mandela's accomplishments both on and off the ice.
