Lead guitarists: We don't need no stinking singers!

I loved Jeff Beck! Out of all the guitarists I saw in concert, Jeff Beck kicked the most ass!

Short list of guitarists I've seen in concert:
  1. Eric Clapton (6 times)
  2. Jimmy Page (twice)
  3. Alvin Lee
  4. Terry Kath
  5. Carlos Santana (twice)
  6. Steve Howe (twice)
  7. Martin Barre (4 times)
  8. Richie Blackmore (twice)
  9. Tony Iommi (twice)
  10. Kirk Cobain
  11. Dicky Betts
That’s a great list!

I regret turning down dozens of chance to see Frank Zappa

One of my greatest sorrows, was not being old enough to see Dicky and Duane.
I turned 13 in 1969, the local hippies hung out in a park a block away and we were friendly. In August they went to Woodstock and when I asked my parents if I could go, they said NFW.

Later that year my grandfather wanted to take me to Rome and live with him and study to become a Doctor, same response

Those of you who play, what's your favorite guitar, hubby likes Les Paul.

I turned 13 in 1963, great time to be young.

I love Roy. A highly underrated blues guitarist. I saw him open once for the Mahavishnu Orchestra at a big palace.
He gets less radio play than Zappa

It cracks me up when a list of "Greatest Guitar Players EVER!" are made by people who never listented to either Zappa or Buchanan.

Jeff was truly a great guy.

  1. Steve Howe
Steve Howe, another phenomenal instrumentalist who often goes unnoticed only because he was surrounded by so much other legendary talent with Yes.

Roy was not about making commercial music for air time. I have lots of Roy's and Frank's albums, all looking like new--- Zappa's talent often got glazed over by the industry paying more attention to his idiosyncratic efforts. Here's a picture of where Frank lived in LA until he passed away, only in his 50s.

Can't find any solo guitar only songs.

Eh, I should keep my mouth shut, but Jackson Strat with a Kahler I.
If you get a good one, they hold tune really well, probably should have some kind of locking nut, too.
I shouldn't have opened my mouth because all I have is a decent quality Japanese Epiphone. :auiqs.jpg:

Thing is Frank, back in the 60s and 70s, who knew? We thought bands like
The Beatles, King Crimson, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd,
Yes, The Moody Blues, et al, would be around forever.
For me, it was Uncle Meat. After the Beatles and LZ, Zappa just totally gutted me. I didn’t have music ears or understanding was going on.
