Well, there's many more members than in the 60's. About 16-17 million more around the world. Many are successful and have money for charity. Back then, the Church wasn't nearly as rich and so it was that you had to be a member paying their tithing in order to receive welfare from the Church. Even in the 80's this was still true. Now, many who are not members receive assistance. But, the liberals think the rich should give up their money, all of it.Seems the times have changed in the LDS community.
